Anthony (Tony) Keith Hollinger’s story isn’t a straight line—it’s a journey through the very institutions that define America. Raised in the heart of inner-city Philadelphia as the eighth of nine children, he learned early lessons in community and resilience, experiencing both the challenges and the unbreakable spirit of urban life.

An academic scholarship to the first Quaker Friends School in the nation and  another to the US Naval Academy for college (where he played 4 years of varsity football), prepared him to serve honorably as U.S. Marine Corps Officer—including combat environment leadership in Operations Desert Shield & Storm.

These experiences instilled in him a deeply reflective perspective on patriotism. Seeing it not as blind loyalty, but as a proactive  allegiance to a set of common principles that unify a nation unique in the World’s history. He learned that lasting unity is built on a foundation of discipline, service, and inclusion.

After serving as a Marine Officer, earning a Harvard  MBA led him to serve as a senior business leader for iconic companies like The Walt Disney Company and Comcast. He saw firsthand how powerful entities operate and learned that the principles of leadership and unity were even more critical than he had realized.

This unique path—from the heart of Philly to the U.S. Marines, Harvard and the heights of corporate America—gave him a rare view. He saw a disconnect between exclusive, self- proclamations of "patriotism" and the strength of the inclusive, diverse, and resilient spirit in "urban" communities that are the backbone of our nation.

urban Patriot was born from the synthesis of these life experiences. It crystallized in his heart and mind only after years of reflection.  He is sharing it to champion a sense of  patriotism rooted in strength, unity, and an authentic commitment to all our communities.
